OXCEL sets the pace in leadership development in Malaysia with its made to fit courses and programmes. When it’s not doing this, it’s organizing social events for its members, prospective members, facilitators and friends of OXCEL. This is to meet with a lot of new people in a relaxed atmosphere and talk about leadership development or business, promote their products or services or just have plain fun. The idea behind this is that hopefully, this will strengthen the leadership development community and open up new opportunities. This was no different, the networking dinner had in attendance CEOs, COOs, Directors and Managers of organizations and government agencies and parastatals, OXCEL partners and facilitators, friends and their families. The evening was nothing short of ‘grand’ as often said by OXCEL CEO Dr Saiful Bahri when he takes delight in something.
The event, held at the OXCEL House which was lit with resonating English décor, offered a range of both delicious Malaysian and English cuisine. The evening started with a short signing ceremony to inaugurate the OXCEL Young Leaders Club, the appointment of Mr. Mohammad Khazaidi, CEO of EP Excellence as the club’s president and then a speech by Dato Ghazali Dato Yusoff on the importance of developing leaders when they are young.
The commencement of the dinner which coincided with the time to break the daily fast was done to give credence to the Muslims who were fasting as this is the Ramadan (Fasting) period started with the saying of special prayers by Ashraff Abdulaimi from the Middle East. Prominent individuals at the dinner were Tan Sri Dato (Dr) Elias Omar and wife; Haji Azizan Nordin, Acting Director-General of Tourism Malaysia; Dato Zulkifli Mohamad, General Manager of Melaka Tourism Promotion; Senator Dato Rahman Bakar and Dato Dr Suhaimi from PMSB (Malaysia Human Resource Development Fund) amongst others.
