OXCEL YOUNG LEADERS CLUB’S YOUNG LEADERSHIP COURSE 2010

Ipoh, Perak – 17 October, 2010. In the capital city of the northern state of Perak, a path towards greatness was made. A group of young individuals under the aegis of the Oxford Centre for Leadership (OXCEL) Young Leaders Club (OYLC) organized their maiden programme titled the Young Leadership Course 2010.

It was a power packed event that left the participants beaming with smiles of confidence and vigor. Held at the ballroom of the 4-Star Heritage Hotel, the colorful event was one that showcased the immense potential of these young aspiring leaders of the OYLC.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister of Perak and Chief Host of the event YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir was impressed at what he saw. He commended the OYLC for the exuberance and for taking the initiative to develop their fellow youths without waiting for the government. He further expressed the need the development of young leaders not just for the state of Perak alone but the entire Malaysia. “The democratic principle of leadership development is the production of leaders for the people” he added.

The event was very inspiring and motivating with presentations from Dr Ruud West who spoke on Youth Empowerment, Ms. Connie Chew on Personal Image and Mr. Jerry Iheaka on Effective Communication. The OYLC is indeed gearing towards being the body that will champion the cause of youth development in Malaysia
