Having sourced from approximately 400 candidates, the Oxford Centre for Leadership, in association with FELDA, selected no more than 27 candidates to attend the FELDA Assistant Facilitator programme at the Nomad Sucasa Hotel, KLCC. This was a two-day event where the candidates were pushed to their limits to prove their worthiness as a FELDA Assistant Facilitator.
The Objective was to select candidates of the highest calibre to assist in nationwide community development programme using the guiding principles of Asset Based Community Development strategy –pioneered by OXCEL Asia-Pacific.
Candidates have been selected on core competencies: personality and critical thinking, communication and public speaking as well as leadership and team working abilities. A team of industry professionals set to work in assessing the candidate’s capabilities using techniques varying from behavioural analysis to psychometric testing while candidates undertook a range of tasks – stretching the duration of the course.
Mentally and physically challenged – the event took its toll on the group – all fresh graduates many of whom were not used to such working hours.
The event ended with testimonials, handshakes and smiles, although the decision process had only just began for the OXCEL team to filter candidates on core abilities and individual performance based on the qualitative and quantitative data gathered during the programme.
